Basic Circuits Challenge V5 consists of a set of fifteen activities to help you teach basic electrical concepts. Exercise Titles: Electric Ideas, Electrical Components, Powers of Ten, Color Codes, Ohm’s Law One, Ohm’s Law Two, Power One, Power Two, Series Voltage Sources, Series Circuits One, Series Circuits Two, Parallel Circuits One, Parallel Circuits Two, Series Parallel Circuits One and Series Parallel Circuits Two.
The Basic Circuits Challenge program can also be used effectively to do classroom demonstrations using a LCD video projector or large screen monitor. An instructor may want to devise a problem using specific resistor values to illustrate a concept. This can be done by doing a double click on the Basic Circuits Challenge icon in the upper right corner of the main menu page, the starting page, of Basic Circuits Challenge. Select the desired resistor values by inserting the resistor number in the blocks. Type the number “5” in the code block. Select the CONTINUE button to record your selections. The selected resistors will be used in the exercises Series Circuits Two, Parallel Circuits Two, and Series-Parallel Two. One caution, disk grade recording and certificate printing will be disabled for the remainder of the program run if this feature is used.
