Ezicontour is an integrated Windows-based program designed for the needs of anyone that needs to produce contour plans and / or simple maps. The program is as simple as possible to make this process easy and intuitive without compromising power and functionality. It will easily contour 1 million points. The Ezicontour software uses the same routines as used by the professional version of CDS. Stripping the survey / Civil Engineering specific code has resulted in a more user friendly package that still retains the background power of CDS. The data created by Ezicontour can be read by CDS. This gives you an upgrade path if you ever need to use the data as a basis for ongoing design.

The workflow when using Ezicontour is as follows:

Collect the Data

  • Data can be imported from industry standard formats such as DXF,DWG or LandXML. A number of other proprietary formats are also supported. It also allows the import of points in an ASCII csv format which can be collected from most GPS units.
  • Data can also be entered in a manual fashion by clicking on the screen.
  • Ezicontour lets you digitize in points and lines using any digitizer or sketch tablet that has a valid Wintab driver. Alternatively heads up digitizing can be performed. Insert your background bitmap picked up from your scanner, digital camera etc. Georeference it on the screen and simply trace the points and lines. It is that simple.
Contour the Data
  • Ezicontour allows you to model surfaces from random points using Delaunay triangulation routines. You can edit this base DTM.
  • Breaklines (fault lines) may be defined to further define the DTM and subsequent contours. Ezicontour also allows you to specify multiple boundary strings for ultimate contour control.
  • You may select the points you need from the database by any combination of point number, height, point code or layer, or you can define windows or polygons of interest on the screen using the mouse.
  • The points you select are assigned to a particular surface, and you can use multiple surfaces within the one job for maximum processing flexibility.
  • Define contour labels both automatically or manually by intersecting lines.
